Roman Ruins, especially Djemila, Madouros and Timgad.
The city of Constantine
The valley of Rhoufi

Tips: Expect constant police security presence and therefore limited personal movement.
Be prepared for unclean and poorly maintained hotels.
Be prepared for lengthy bus journeys in relatively cramped conditions.
Food choices are limited and unexciting - not a Gourmets delight!

We were very sorry to learn of your dissatisfaction over the accommodation and bus journey during your holiday. We were a bit surprised by this, as the trip is usually well received with our customers, but in light of your comments we will review the hotel standard and travel arrangements on this trip with our operations manager. We also apologise that the cooking was not to your liking, and we appreciate that, though food differences are part of the joys of traveling, it can wear thin if you are unable to find anything to suit your taste. We do hope that, despite these issues, you returned with some positive memories of your time in Algeria.

Washington, DC
Our leaders Skye and Rafif did a wonderful job in keep the trip organized, interesting, informative and safe. They both deserve our highest praise as does also our driver

The hotel in Set'if was below standards and I might suggest moving the accomodation to the Ibis once is it is completed an in operation. It was a bit disconcerting but completely understanable to have as much security as we did. It might wandering about a bit limited but I suppose this is part of the experience of Algeria

I think anyone booking the trip should be warned that the Visa process is cumbersome. We applied for our visa 6 weeks before our departure and only received them, after some intervention, four days before we left. Should we not have been approved, we would not only have been disappointed but were told either that the money we paid would be credited for some future trip (acceptable) or not paid pack (not acceptable). I thank Steve Rollins for all of his assistance and support. I think there should be a clear and consistent policy that once you have demonstrated, you could not receive a visa, that the money be credited for another journey.

It was unfortunate that the weather was much colder than expected but the amount of interesting things on a day to day basis is very small compared to ,say, morrocco or tunisia.Quality of hotels and restaurants is appalling

Algiers is a most beguiling city. The Casbah is mysterious and seductive;winding alley ways & secret walled gardens. The old Ottoman houses do not disappoint...beautiful tiles, filigree lamps and views from the rooftop over the washing lines towards the bay.Great guy!Five star tour leader in all aspects:pastoral care, knowledge re history of areas, plus unobtrusive organisational skills.

I was very disappointed with the huge amount of litter and rubbish literally everywhere throughout the country. The Police and Army and plain clothes policemen accompanying us wherever we went was disturbing. Not being able to wonder around alone disappointing.Excellent leader, knowledgeable, caring and attentive.

Teasing a local tourist policeman.
I suggest that you don't do this unless you are old enough to be his mother.
