Frozen Kingdoms: The wonders of polar wildlife

We held an in-person event at the Royal Institution in London on Thursday 10 April, where we were transported to the frozen kingdoms and learnt about our polar expeditions to Antartica or the Arctic.

We joined forces with the teams of the M/V Greg Mortimer and M/V Sylvia Earle to bring you an exciting live event in April 2025.

We heard from expert speakers about what to expect from a polar expedition to Antarctica or the Arctic, the wildlife that you could be lucky enough to spot and the fascinating history of these extra-special areas.

You can watch the recording of the event below.

A penguin stands on a rocky surface, gazing upward. It is surrounded by larger rocks and a blurred, icy background, suggesting a cold, natural setting.

Jamie Lafferty, Photography Guide

Jamie is a talented Writer and Photographer hailing from Scotland. Jamie’s work has been featured in prestigious publications including the New York Times, Sunday Times, Guardian, National Geographic Traveller, Outside and Financial Times. He has journeyed to Antarctica eight times, spent a week in Svalbard while a horror film was being shot, and has stories to tell from just about everywhere in between. His favourite destination so far is South Georgia for its extraordinary history and unpredictable nature.
