Discover our Norway tours

Whether you’re looking for an adventure tour, boat trip or polar bear watching holiday, our small group tours to Norway cover a variety of activities that show off this icy wilderness and take you beyond the usual beaten track.

Travelling by ship is the best way to tour Norway. Traversing the waters of the Norwegian Sea, you’ll take in impressive glaciers, rugged shorelines and swathes of natural beauty. The best time to visit Norway is between June to August, while our September and October departure dates offer the best opportunities of watching the majestic Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) dance across the night sky. Read our tips and advice on photographing the Northern Lights

Cruise into the Arctic Ocean to uncover towering icebergs and go in search of walrus and polar bear in Svalbard. If you’re lucky, you may spot arctic fox roaming the desolate tundra and your expert leader will take you through the ice floes on a zodiac rib to get close to herds of seal and flocks of arctic seabirds resting on the icy cliffs.

Our Norway Northern Lights tour hugs the coastline of Norway, focusing on the North Cape – Europe’s northernmost point. This is one of the best areas in Norway to see the Northern Lights, a natural phenomenon where hues of pink, green, violet and blue ripple across the night sky. This Norway aurora borealis tour takes in more Mother Nature spectacles, including Mount Torghatten, a granite dome with a unique hole through its centre.

Our Discover Scandinavia trip combines the best of Norway's natural landscapes and bustling cities. Join a walking tour in Bergen - the 'gateway to the fjords' - and visit Bergen Market for fish tasting. Explore Norway's adventure capital of Voss and cruise along the Naerofjord and Aurlandsford, before taking the train that winds past valleys, waterfalls and snow-capped mountains to reach Oslo. The capital city of Norway, Oslo is much-loved for its Royal Palace, Oslo Opera House and waterfront area of Brygge, with its tempting selection of shops, restaurants and galleries.

Frequently asked questions about Norway:

When is the best time to visit Norway?

The best time to visit Norway is during the summer months (June to August), when the weather is at its warmest and the days are long. This is the ideal season for outdoor adventures like hiking, kayaking and cycling. It’s also perfect for cruising through the fjords and experiencing the magical Midnight Sun, where the sun barely sets.

That said, Norway is a year-round destination. If witnessing the Northern Lights or going whale watching is high up on your bucket list, plan your trip between December and March, as this is when the nights are longest and nature puts on its most dramatic winter show.
