Small group family adventures to Italy

Explore the beautiful Garfagnana valley in northern Tuscany, known for its host of adventurous activities ideal for teenagers and adults alike. Navigate the seven courses by swinging beams, suspension bridges, nets and ropes and spend an evening kayaking or Stand Up Paddle boarding on the beautiful Lake Gramolazzo.

Sleep above ground in a tree tent amongst the wooded landscapes near Petralia Sottana, Sicily. Spend the day trying out the nearby zip wires or try your hand at archery. Or have a go at sea kayaking and circumnavigate the towering sea rocks in the protected marine park of Isole Ciclopi.

Our family holidays in Italy are rated as moderate. Perfect if you want plenty of activities with time to relax too. Make the most of your chosen destination with our expert local tour leaders, chosen for their knowledge, passion and experience in working with families. Our average family adventure small group size is between three and five families - large enough to meet like-minded people and similarly-aged children, but small enough to get closer to the destinations we're visiting.

Family Adventures in Tuscany

Experience canyoning and zip wires in the Turrite Valley on our Tuscany Multi-Activity Adventure. Arriving at the pretty village of Fornolovasco, canyon down the Rio Pinguino in the parco Battifero which allows us to try some small water jumps. After a relaxed lunch back at Fornolovasco, take a walk up the dry canyon to descend back down with time to see the amazing caves. Back at base, there’s time to zip wire across to the café to relax at the bar with an ice cream.

Family Adventures in Sicily
Visit the slopes of Mount Etna, the highest volcano in Europe and one of the largest in the world, on our Sicily Multi-Activity Adventure. Drive up the mountain, through the citrus groves and beech woods to Linguaglossa Rivittello where you can taste local dairy and salami products. Continue up the road to Piano Provenzana. From here you’ll continue on foot up to the crater on the Northeast side at an altitude of 2,300m, stopping off for lunch and at numerous craters along the way. After your descent, you’ll visit a volcanic cave before returning back to your hotel.
