Explore Italy's Amalfi Coast with us

The Amalfi Coast never fails to dazzle, however you choose to explore it. From walking and cycling to simply feeling the warm sand between your toes, we've got the lowdown with our range of Amalfi Coast tours.

Stretching 50km along the southern side of Italy’s Sorrento Peninsula, the Amalfi Coast is peppered with picturesque towns and villages. Positano is adored for its colourful cliffside houses overlooking the Gulf of Salerno. Equally popular is Sorrento, where you can taste home-made limoncello at a local lemon grove.

This scenic region is also home to rugged national parks, shimmering bays, old mule tracks, rustic agriturismo and more, making the Amalfi Coast the ultimate Mediterranean sojourn.

Plus, it's easy to venture to popular surrounding cities including Rome, Venice and Florence. Roughly 60 miles/40km north of the Amalfi Coast lie the world-revered archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum, where you can learn about the lives of 'ordinary' ancient Romans.

FAQs about our Amalfi Coast trips

The best months to visit the Amalfi Coast are between April and May, and October and November. These shoulder seasons see milder temperatures of around 15-19°c. June to September (in particular July and August) mark the hottest months to visit the Amalfi Coast, where temperatures soar above 35°c.

The Amalfi Coast can be one of the most expensive places to visit in Europe when planning a trip on your own, which is why booking a small group tour to Italy can help maximize your budget. Positano is generally more expensive - it's a favourite among Hollywood stars - while Sorrento and Amalfi cater for a wider range of budgets.

The Amalfi Coast is famous for its cliff-hugging houses, turquoise blue waters and picturesque towns and villages. The Amalfi Coast is also famous for the Walk of the Gods, a 7km walk hailed as one of the world's most stunning hikes.

Deciding on whether to visit Positano or Amalfi depends on what you're after. The chic town of Positano offers the chance to see and be seen at beach clubs, while the famed harbour town of Amalfi is home to a stunning 11th-century church and gorgeous beaches.

Naples International Airport is the closest airport to the Amalfi Coast. It takes around one to two hours to reach the Amalfi Coast by taxi or transfer. A cheaper option is to fly into Rome Fiumicino Airport and take the train down to the Amalfi Coast. Of course, the Rome to Amalfi Coast train takes slightly longer -around 3.5 hours - but it makes for a scenic entrance.

The Amalfi Coast is 50km long, and is UNESCO-listed for its "great physical beauty and natural diversity". Home to dramatic topography and centuries-old architecture, the best way to cover the length of the Amalfi Coast is by joining a series of day-walks.

Explore tours cover all of the must-sees on the Amalfi Coast, as well as lesser-visited gems. There's no missing the lemon groves and pastel-hued houses of Amalfi, Sorrento and Positano. Another bucket-list experience is a boat tour to the island of Capri, a popular coastal resort since Roman times. Nor should you skip Ravello, a hilltop village famed for its quieter atmosphere, Moorish architecture and jaw-dropping panoramic views.
