Sample the superb Pugliese cuisine along the way with cheeses from the local caseificio. Visit a family-run bakery and sample many of the local wines.

Boasting stretches of wild, golden beaches and serene coves just waiting to be explored, the Algarve is a real highlight when cycling Portugal. This picturesque south coast region is home to quaint historical villages, with plenty of unspoilt white-washed streets and well-preserved architecture to discover.

5. The Albanian Riviera
With crystal clear waters, set amongst a jaw-dropping backdrop of rugged mountains and UNESCO world heritage sites, a cycle trip on the coast of the Ionian Sea offers one of the very best ways to explore Albania's stunning scenery.

When is the best time to go on a cycling tour in Europe?
Generally, the best time to go cycling in Europe is to head south during the winter and north during the summer. In spring and autumn, you’ll find the most pleasant conditions across the board.

How challenging are cycling tours in Europe? 
We cater for all abilities and our European cycling holidays are graded from Easy to Challenging. Easy rides are flatter, shorter and have plenty of rest stops. On a Challenging ride you’ll spend more time in the saddle and climbing hills.

What kind of bike is included on a European cycling holidays? 
For all our European cycling tours we choose good quality hybrid or mountain bikes suited to the local terrain. If you would prefer some extra power, you can choose to hire an electric bike (e-bike) for an additional fee at the time of booking.
