One of Explore’s values is to do the right thing – that is why, throughout the coronavirus crisis, we are one of few major adventure travel companies to not only be offering booking transfers and future credit vouchers for suspended trips, but who continue to offer refunds if these options aren’t suitable. And rightly so.

Our booking conditions have always had in-built flexibility and that hasn’t changed. It’s one of four key reasons that you should feel particularly confident about booking with Explore during these times.

Flexible booking

For all our tours (except Polar Voyages), you can change your destination or defer your trip for FREE, as long as it’s at least 60 days before your departure. And if a trip is suspended, you are entitled to a booking transfer to a future departure, a credit voucher or a refund. Full stop.

Tour leaders on-hand

One of the huge advantages of group tours is that you are accompanied by an expert local tour leader. They are there to enhance your trip: all you have to do is enjoy the experience, because someone else is taking care of logistics. It means that, when it’s needed, communication between our HQ and any group is excellent, and we are in a prime position to quickly adapt to changing circumstances.

Flight-inclusive care package

If you are in the UK, you have the option to book your flights through us, and this comes with a number of benefits – not least that, if it’s necessary to cancel a tour when it’s already out on the road, we will repatriate you and refund the days you miss.
 
It also includes: full Explore refunds in the event of FCO cancellations or major disruption at your UK departure airport, rearranged flights and transfers in the event of delays, missed connections, or cancellations (including accommodation overseas), ATOL protection, no surcharge guarantee, and carbon neutral offsetting.

24/7 operations team

Back in the UK there is a 24/7 operations team working round the clock to keep you safe. We always follow FCO travel advice, and never operate a trip against UK government advice. But if circumstances change once a trip has started, we are adept at responding quickly. At the height of the recent coronavirus crisis, all customers on tour were safely home before their holiday was even due to end – whilst the media reported many people who had travelled with other companies were still stuck in countries unable to get home.
