Our response

All of our walking grades are currently under review, as we feel there is not always a clear distinction between activity grades and walking grades.

We aim to describe the individual walks in sufficient detail on the Trip Notes so that expectations can be met, and we welcome customer feedback on this – and we can assure everyone that we learn from it!

The guesthouse in Ezerovo is roomy, comfortable, and out in the hills.  Plenty of opportunities for walking right from the doorstep if the day's activities haven't been sufficient for you.  The walks were fairly well indicated by the trip dossier, varying each day with some days being easy, some longer and with more moderate level effort required.  The canyon walk was exciting but a bit hard going in places - short but extremely steep slippy inclines.  We were there in August, and the weather was good.  It might have been nice to spend longer in Sofia (we only reached it the evening before early-morning departure), so if you have some time to spare, consider arranging your own flights and spending an extra night or two in this pleasant city.
