Cross the Drake Passage
Cross the Drake Passage in the company of cape petrels and majestic wandering albatrosses. The outer decks and bridge provide excellent space to see and photograph wildlife.

South Shetland Islands
Cross the Antarctic Convergence, biological boundary to an icy world. Penguins and seals appear as you approach the South Shetland Islands where, hopefully, you will make your first landing.

Enter the Weddell Sea...
Access to the Weddell Sea is totally ice-dependent. Calved from massive ice shelves, the giant icebergs of the Antarctic Sound on the Peninsula’s northeast coast create a memorable sight. You thread your way through waters alive with penguins against a backdrop of breathtaking scenery, forged by volcanic activity.

Weddell Sea Penguins
For the next three days, the whim of weather systems and shifting pack ice dictate the schedule. You may visit the vast penguin colonies of Brown Bluff or Paulet Island, fossil-rich Seymour Island and historic Snow Hill Island. There's also the opportunity to hike to spectacular vantage points on Beak and Devil Islands; you may even reach the islands of Prince Gustav Channel. Wherever you go, wildlife, Heroic Age relics and haunting landscapes await.

Antarctic Peninsula
Returning through the Antarctic Sound, you head for the Peninsula’s beautiful western flanks. You make full use of daylight hours and relatively ice-free waters to experience as much as possible; wildlife stops on off-shore islands, visiting historic huts and Zodiac cruising amid icebergs and whales are all possibilities.

Back across the Drake Passage
Head back across the Drake Passage. The last lectures help polish our Antarctic education before making a ceremonial rounding of Cape Horn, time and weather permitting.

Beagle Channel
A pre-dawn sail along the Beagle Channel and an early breakfast prepare you to dock in Ushuaia. There’s time for final photos and to saying farewells before disembarking.
