See work by Warhol, de Kooning and other top modern artists
People planning to take a solo holiday to Spain should inject a bit of culture into their trip by paying a visit to one of the world's best contemporary art galleries.
The Biscay capital is home to the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, where the permanent collection houses work by modern artists such as Wilelm de Kooning, Cy Twombly and Andy Warhol.
However, the art is not only found inside the building. The architecture of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is widely lauded as one of the greatest examples of the Deconstructivist school in the world.
Famous architect Philip Johnson - who is known for designing New York's Seagram Building and the Gate of Europe, in Madrid - called Bilbao's museum "the greatest building of our time".
The establishment is also one of the Twelve Wonders of Spain, along with attractions such as the Cordoba Cathedral in Andalucia and Basque Country's Beach of La Concha.
