Tourism board promotes the country's adventure holiday opportunities
Turkey offers many activities and attractions that are unmissable for people on adventure holidays, perhaps none more so than the "breath-taking" fairy chimneys of Cappadocia, according to the country's tourism office.
A fairy chimney, also known as a hoo doo, is a sedimentary rock formation that stretches out from arid drainage basins. Those of Cappadocia, a central Turkish region, are considered some of the best in the world.
Joanna Marsh, the press relations co-ordinator for the Turkish Culture and Tourism Office, has said that Turkey offers adventure holiday-makers chances to take part in many different activities.
"Thrill seekers should try paragliding over the spectacular blue lagoon of Oludeniz - the two kilometre descent from the top of Mount Baba Dagi is not for the faint-hearted," she said.
"But the views are simply breath-taking. A hot air balloon ride over the fairy chimneys of Cappadocia is another experience not to be missed."
