Chile 'offers a vast variety' of activities

'Sliver of a country' is great for adventure holidays

Despite being a "sliver of a country", Chile is an ideal destination for people planning adventure holidays, due to the beautiful scenery and a famous national park.

That is according to award-winning travel writer Chris Leadbeater, who was putting forward his opinions on where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (Prince William and Catherine Middleton) will take their holiday.

"[Chile is] a 4000-mile sliver of a country that offers vast variety," he wrote in the Daily Mail.

"Culture galore in the lively capital Santiago; year-round warmth in the north, where it hems Peru; chilly beauty amid the peaks and glaciers of Torres Del Paine National Park in Patagonia."

Travellers can visit this famous national park while on adventure holidays in the South American country.

Torres Del Paine, which can be translated as 'blue towers', is located in Chilean Patagonia. It is neighboured by Bernardo O'Higgins National Park and Los Glaciares National Park, which is in Argentina.
