Ecuador is stepping up its efforts to attract well-heeled adventure-loving holidaymakers
As well as its lush rainforest, Ecuador is also home to a range of other stunning terrains, including the Andes mountains, the Amazon basin and the Galapagos Islands.
That is the message travellers are to be given as part of a new global tourism campaign being rolled out by the Ecuador Tourist Board over the coming months.
In particular, the initiative will focus on promoting the natural highlights of the South American country to travellers aged between 28 and 45, and more specifically those keen to enjoy 'more exciting holidays', Marketing Week has reported.
Furthermore, it is hoped that the money spent by the tourism board will be more than recouped as thrill-seeking travellers make a stop in Ecuador as part of adventure holidays that take in regional highlights such as the Inca Trail in Peru and Brazil's world-famous carnivals and beaches.
Aside from its natural highlights, travellers taking activity holidays in Ecuador will also find some of the continent's best-preserved colonial architecture in the capital city of Quito.
