South America is home to many hiking holiday opportunities
People planning hiking holidays should consider travelling to South America to take advantage of the continent's varied landscape and differing climates.
A trekking holiday though Argentina - for instance - can offer beautiful sunshine and subtropical temperatures in the north of the country, while the south is relatively close to Antarctica and has recorded temperatures of minus 39 degrees Centigrade.
There is also no reason to restrict your hiking holiday to one country when in South America. Bordering Argentina is Chile's Torres del Paine National Park, which contains soaring mountains and gorgeous glaciers.
But hiking trips are not the only adventure holiday that Argentina offers to travellers; the views across the country are astounding.
The South American country is also home to Iguazu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is home to Iguazu Falls - an 82 metre-high waterfall that is widely considered one of the most beautiful on the continent.
