Linda Harris, Product Manager South America – “I was nervous about trekking the Inca trail as I was worried about whether or not I was fit enough and if the altitude would affect me. Reaching Dead Woman’s Pass on day 2 is the hardest part on the Inca Trail (the name does not inspire confidence!), it involves 9km of walking uphill to reach a height of 4215m. However, the group were so supportive and it was really special finally making it to the top, in fact this was my personal highlight of the whole Inca trail and it is a relief to realise the rest of that day’s walking is downhill!”

Jo Rolls, Operations Manager South America – “We arrived on one of the first buses up to the site, rainy, cloudy and a little worried that we would see nothing as all covered in cloud. After a couple of hours visiting the site, we were considering going back to Aguas Calientes when there was a break in the cloud and the top of Huayna Picchu became visible. Over the next 10-15 minutes the cloud cleared from the whole site, revealing luscious greens and stunning scenery that was everything and more than I had seen in pictures and in books. We walked up to the Sun Gate for magnificent views over the whole site and the valley below – stunningly beautiful and so glad we were patient.”
Chris Ellis, Sales Team Leader – “I travelled to Aguas Calientes in the comfort of a train with large glass windows in both sides of the carriages and the roof which allowed spectacular views of the ever-changing scenery as we descended down to the cloudforest. Once we arrived in the small bustling village of Aguas Callientes, it was a short hop up the long windy track, then through the gate to get our passport stamped with the essential ‘Macchu Picchu’ stamp. From there we had a meandering wander through the cloudforest until rounding a corner to get my first glimpse at one of the most famous, beautiful and well kept sites in history. I’d heard so much about Macchu Picchu from a variety of colleagues, friends and customers, but I can tell you that this first glimpse did not disappoint, and is a moment that has been etched into my memory forever."
