Cuba has been home to sieges and revolutions
The Caribbean island of Cuba is not only "beautiful", but also boasts a fascinatingly historical city in Havana.
That is according to an expert writing for adventure holiday magazine Wanderlust, who noted that the country is "spectacular" in many ways, such as in its natural scenery and its rich heritage.
"Cuba is the Caribbean's largest island, and [is] ringed by beautiful beaches and idyllic waters just like its neighbours Jamaica and the Caymans," the travel writer noted on the Wanderlust website.
"Travel in Cuba and experience crumbling Cuban cool, coloured by 500 years of rollercoaster history … since the fall of the Soviet Union, communist Cuba has been out on its own."
Many people visit Cuba on adventure holidays solely to take in some of this history. Must-see attractions for the history explorer include the Museum of the Revolution and Plaza de la Revolucion (or Revolution Square), both located in the capital: Havana.
