Tourism board recommends country as great adventure holiday location
Those planning to take family adventure holidays should consider travelling to Iceland as the destination is an "adventure playground", according to the tourism board.
Visit Iceland has revealed on its website that great for people trying to escape on an adventure holiday.
"This land of boiling mud pools, spurting geysers, glaciers and waterfalls is also an adventure playground," the website reads.
"Its breathtaking landscape is an inspiration to artists and photographers. Iceland is the least densely populated country in Europe, with a pure, unpolluted and truly magical landscape."
Those taking family adventure holidays to the European island nation might want to explore the country's beautiful and astonishing natural sights, like its geysers.
Earlier this month, Visit Iceland revealed that more people travelled through the country's KeflavĂk Airport last month than in the corresponding period of last year. The tourism board noted that seven per cent of these visitors came from the United Kingdom.
