Visitors to Rio can see the city in a new light from the top of Sugar Loaf mountain.
Take a ride to the top of Sugar Loaf mountain for stunning views of Rio de Janeiro while on family package holidays in Brazil.
The famous mountain, which struts out of the Pacific ocean, overlooks the city's Copacabana district and affords visitors unadulterated panoramic views of Rio.
It is possible to reach the 1,300 ft summit by travelling on two cable cars, each of which take just a couple of minutes to reach their destination.
The first goes from the base of the Babilonia to Morro de Acucar, which stands 220m above ground, while the second transports visitors all the way to the Pao de Acucar peak.
The mountain is primarily made from granite and derives its name from its likeness to traditional sugar loafs, which were refined up to the 19th century.
For those who enjoy rock climbing, there are opportunities to do so for people of all skill levels on the side of the mountain.
