Lonely Planet's Carswell recommends Cementerio de la Recoleta
People visiting Argentina's capital on adventure holidays must not leave before exploring one of the city's greatest sites: Cementerio de la Recoleta.
Heather Carswell, who is the senior media and communications executive for publishing firm Lonely Planet, said that despite the macabre overtones, the place is beautiful.
"Yes, it's a cemetery, but this sprawling maze of narrow lanes is home to 4,800 extravagant tombs, including some of the country's best known figures such as Eva Peron," she said.
The travel expert also noted that people interested in the history of football should visit one of the world's most impressive stadia.
She noted: "A trip to Buenos Aires isn't complete without checking out a match at La Bombonera Stadium. You'll be as impressed by the stadium as you will be by the passion of the fans in it."
People travelling to Argentina on adventure holidays may like to explore further than the capital. The region of Patagonia - partly located in the south of the country - is home to may beautiful natural sights.
