Country offers good value and great location for Brits
Due to its proximity and wide choice of transport options and direct links from the UK, France is an ideal destination for Britons choosing where to go on an activity trip.
That is according to Atout France: the France Tourism Development Agency, which noted that the country's location means travel to the country will "continue to be strong".
Natalie Goulet, a spokeswoman for the organisation, noted that she expected the "traditionally popular areas to continue to attract British families". These area include places such as Provence and the Rhone Alps.
In addition to this, Ms Goulet suggested that France offers good value for those taking family activity holidays.
"With regards to accommodation, people and particularly those with a family, will look for good value for money, for example: self catering, as opposed to hotels, which is less expensive for a family," she said.
According to research recently undertaken by The Co-operative, France is British holiday-makers' favourite European destination.
