Take a holiday to Azerbaijan with Explore and you will soon be transported into Sheki, a market town lost in the folds of the forested slopes of the Caucasus foothills. We enter the Land of Fire along an ancient caravan route staying in converted caravanserai and visiting the exquisite Khan Palace complex, then embarking on a scenic, winding journey in the shadow of the majestic mountains, travelling the historic trade route from Sheki tp Baku on the Caspian Sea where the landscapes vary from lifeless deserts to dense green forests. Ending our tour in the Capital Baku there will be opportunities to wander the backstreets and bazaars of the Old Town and visit nearby Qobustan and some curious mud volcanoes.
Combined with Georgia and Armenia this is an in depth journey exploring the beauty and the hospitality of the Caucasus and its people.
